Fix upload and viewing-link problems
Find the cause of a missing Share button, failed upload, full storage, broken link, or access problem.

The file is too large or storage is full
Check both the per-file limit and the remaining total storage. Trial videos are limited to 250 MB and five minutes. Other desktop hosted video uploads currently stop at 500 MB, including Team uploads. Hosted screenshots stop at 25 MB.
For a video that is too large, export again with a smaller Resolution or lower Quality, or shorten it. See Export your video. For a screenshot, crop unnecessary areas or use a smaller source image, then share the new result.
If total storage is full, open Shared files, save any files you want to keep, and delete hosted files you no longer need. Screenshots and videos use the same allowance. In the trial, deleting a screenshot frees storage but does not restore its share allowance.
An upload failed or stays pending
Keep Screenix open and maintain an internet connection while an upload is running. If it fails, read the error before retrying. Authentication errors need the correct signed-in account; file errors need an existing local export; storage errors need space or a smaller file.
Check the Shared list before retrying after an interruption. An unfinished attempt can appear as pending and can reserve storage. If the attempt is clearly no longer running, delete that unfinished share and upload again.
If the app reports Hosted sharing is not configured or repeatedly reports a server error, this needs help from Screenix. Keep the local export and send the exact message through the contact form.
The upload succeeded, but the link did not copy
If a link or a new shared item exists, the upload may already be complete. Use Copy link again, select and copy the visible screenshot link manually, or open the item from Shared and copy the browser’s address.
For hosted files, Shared files is another place to recover the link. Avoid uploading again just to fix a clipboard problem, since a new upload can create another share.
A recipient cannot open the link
If the link works for you but not a recipient, test it in a private browser window. The owner can access their own protected or expired share while signed in.
A share page that has been open for a long time may need to be refreshed before playback resumes. Protected media access can expire while the page remains open.
- Password required: give the recipient the current password. If you changed it, previously unlocked browsers may need to enter the new password.
- Too many attempts: wait before entering another password. After repeated incorrect attempts, the service temporarily limits retries.
- Team access required: the recipient must sign in using an account with active membership in the selected team. An invitation that has not been accepted is not active membership.
- Link expired: change the expiration in Share settings if the file still exists and you intend to make it available again. Trial retention can remove a file, so extending a date does not recover a deleted trial share.
- Share not available: check whether the file was deleted or the upload is still pending. Reupload a local copy if the hosted file was deleted.
A Your storage link is broken
Run Test connection in the storage settings and read whether the test object was publicly readable. Upload permission alone does not make a link viewable.
Confirm that the Public base URL points to the bucket’s public address and that the Key prefix is not included twice. If you changed the domain, removed a file, or made the bucket private, older links may stop opening.
For a captioned share, the video, caption file, and viewing page must remain together. If the page downloads instead of opening, check how your public storage address serves HTML files. Your provider controls that behavior.
Send the details that help us solve it
Use the contact form or email [email protected]. Include the exact error, whether you chose Screenix hosted or Your storage, the file type and size, and what you tried. For a video, include its duration.
For an account issue, include the account email privately. For a viewing problem, describe what the owner and recipient each see. Share a non-sensitive example if possible, and leave storage secrets and passwords out of screenshots and messages.
