Trials, accounts, and license keys

Start or restore a trial, activate your purchase, and solve common login and access problems.

On this page

Start or continue a trial

Choose Start trial on the Record page. The trial dialog offers a seven-day trial with no credit card required. Enter your email address, then choose Start Free Trial. No verification code is required in this desktop flow.

If you have already started, choose Continue trial, enter the same email address, and select Continue Trial. This restores the existing trial and its remaining time.

An internet connection is needed to start or restore a trial and to authorize trial recording sessions. Skip for now lets you leave the trial dialog, but recording and other licensed actions still need an active trial or license.

Log in with your purchased license

The desktop license field expects the license key from your purchase email. Signing into the website and connecting the desktop app are separate steps.

  1. Find the Screenix purchase confirmation email and copy the license key.
  2. In Screenix, choose Sign in in the sidebar, or Already have a license? Activate it in the trial dialog.
  3. Paste the key into Log in with your license, then choose Log in while connected to the internet.
  4. Open your profile in the sidebar and confirm that the connected email and license tier match your purchase.

Understand an upgrade or limit message

Use the allowance and access shown in your account as the reference for your plan. If you have already paid but still see a trial prompt, activate the purchase key and reopen your profile to refresh the account details.

  • Trial expired: recording and video export require a valid trial or paid access. Activate your purchased key, or review the available plans on the website.
  • Video limit reached or duration limit: Screenix uses the allowance returned for your account. If a recording reaches its allowed duration, it stops and is processed. Review the saved result before starting another recording.
  • Screenshot editing and saving: the screenshot editor is available with an active trial or paid access, but copying or exporting a screenshot requires a paid license.
  • Sharing destination unavailable: hosting and custom storage access depend on the active plan. Open your profile to review sharing access. You can keep an Instant recording on your device by selecting Don't share.

Change computers or use a different license

Finish and save your work before changing a license. In your desktop profile, Deactivate this device > Deactivate removes the saved login from Screenix. It does not delete your local projects or cancel a purchase.

To use a different key on this computer, deactivate the saved license, then choose Sign in and enter the other key.

If activation on a new computer says the key is already activated on another device, sign in to Licenses on the website with the purchase account. Find the matching license and choose Disconnect to remove its previous device link, then activate on the new computer.

Removing the local login and disconnecting a license in the website are different actions. If the old device is still linked after desktop deactivation, use the website Disconnect control. If the license is missing or the connection cannot be removed, contact [email protected].

Using Screenix without a connection

Screenix stores an activated license on this device and can load it for local work. Initial activation, license refreshes, trial recording authorization, model downloads, updates, and uploading a share need a connection. An expired or deactivated license can require you to reconnect and log in again.

Before recording away from the internet, open Screenix while connected and confirm your license is active. Download any subtitle or title models you plan to use, then make a short local recording. Choose Don't share if you want to upload later.

Fix a login problem

For account or payment questions, use the contact form or email [email protected]. Keep license keys and purchase details out of public GitHub issues.

  • Key was not recognized: copy the complete key again from the purchase email. Check for a missing character or an accidentally copied sentence.
  • Could not verify your license: check your connection, then try again. If you use a work network, its administrator may need to help with access to Screenix.
  • Device has been disconnected: log in again with your license. If the message returns, contact support with the exact message.
  • Wrong plan or email: check which purchase key is active in your profile. Use the correct key for the account you intend to use.
  • Missing purchase email or trial restore failed: contact support with the email you used and, if available, your order reference.
