Your tab and your face, in one polished take.

Record a Chrome tab with your webcam as a bubble, your microphone and the page's sound. The camera is recorded separately, so you can move, resize and reshape it after you've finished.

The short answer

Turn on Camera in the popup and record.

Updated October 2026

  • Pick your camera and microphone in the Screenix popup. Chrome asks for access once.
  • The camera warms up during the countdown, so the first frames aren't frozen or black.
  • After recording, drag the bubble anywhere, or snap it to a corner, and change its size, roundness, shadow and mirroring.
  • Filmed yourself separately? Import a video file as the camera track.

Edit the camera later

A bubble you can still change after recording

Most recorders burn the webcam into the screen recording, so if it covers a button, you record again. Screenix stores the camera as its own track and draws it at export time.

That means the bubble can move out of the way when it covers something important, grow for the intro, or switch from a circle to a rounded square, all from the Camera panel or by dragging it in the preview.

  • Drag anywhere in the preview, or snap to a corner
  • Size, roundness, squircle corners and shadow
  • Mirror on or off, plus an optional glass rim
  • Never zoomed with the page, so your face stays steady during auto zoom

Audio included

Mic, tab sound and camera in sync

Your microphone and the tab's sound are recorded as separate tracks alongside the camera. Set each volume in the editor, and everything lines up with the video from start to finish.

The camera records at up to 30 fps. The screen and cursor are rendered at up to 120 fps on export, so the motion stays smooth even when the face cam is a small bubble.

Know the scope

Records tabs, not your desktop

Screenix for Chrome records browser tabs and follows you when you switch tabs in the same window. It doesn't record your desktop or other apps. If your demo happens in a web app, that's all you need.

What you get

Every detail of a good demo,
handled for you.

Camera and audio

Your camera, exactly where it belongs

Add your webcam as a bubble you can drag anywhere, round or square, with your microphone and the sound of the tab you started on.

Auto zoom

Zooms that follow your clicks

Screenix zooms in on every click and pans with the cursor, so viewers see what you did without squinting. Keep the automatic zooms or move, resize and add your own on the timeline.

Send a link instead of a file

With a Screenix yearly or team plan, upload from the editor and copy the link. Viewers watch in any browser and can leave timestamped comments. Without one, export MP4 or WebM up to 4K, free.

Know before you install

Tabs only,
and it follows you between them.

Screenix for Chrome records the tab in front of you, so it can draw a perfect cursor over pure page pixels.

Records browser tabs

Screenix captures the page in the tab you're on, at full quality, without your system cursor.

Follows you between tabs

Switch tabs, open links or reload in the same window and the recording keeps going in one take.

Tab audio from the first tab

Your mic and camera record throughout. Page sound comes from the tab you started on.

Not your whole screen

It doesn't capture your desktop, other apps or other windows. On Linux, the Screenix desktop app does.
