Which one fits
Why people switch
Loom's free plan is generous for a few quick messages, but the caps are firm: 25 videos per person, 5-minute screen recordings, 720p, and no downloads. Since Loom joined Atlassian's pricing, existing customers have also seen price increases and seat changes.
Screenix takes the opposite approach. Your recordings are files in your browser, not rows in a vendor's database. Record as much as you like, export the MP4, and decide later whether to share a hosted link.
Different jobs
A Loom is a conversation: record, send, move on. A product demo, a launch video or a help-center tutorial is watched many times, so polish pays off. Auto zoom on every click, a smooth cursor that viewers can follow, and a clean background make the difference between a recording and a video.
With Screenix's Instant mode, that polish costs no extra time: the video is rendered while you record and ready when you press stop.
Sharing
With a Screenix yearly or team plan, you can upload from the editor and copy a link. Viewers watch in any browser and leave timestamped comments, and you can edit the title or delete the link later. Without a plan, export the MP4 and share it wherever you like.
What you get
Auto zoom
Screenix zooms in on every click and pans with the cursor, so viewers see what you did without squinting. Keep the automatic zooms or move, resize and add your own on the timeline.
Add to ChromeThe cursor, rebuilt
Screenix records the page without your system cursor, then draws a crisp macOS-style one in its place, with spring smoothing, click bumps, motion blur and a soft fade when you stop moving. Seven cursor themes, all adjustable.
Add to ChromeCamera and audio
Add your webcam as a bubble you can drag anywhere, round or square, with your microphone and the sound of the tab you started on.
Add to ChromeFrom stop to sent
With a Screenix yearly or team plan, upload from the editor and copy the link. Viewers watch in any browser and can leave timestamped comments. Without one, export MP4 or WebM up to 4K, free.
Add to ChromeKnow before you install
Screenix for Chrome records the tab in front of you, so it can draw a perfect cursor over pure page pixels.
Screenix captures the page in the tab you're on, at full quality, without your system cursor.
Switch tabs, open links or reload in the same window and the recording keeps going in one take.
Your mic and camera record throughout. Page sound comes from the tab you started on.
It doesn't capture your desktop, other apps or other windows. On Linux, the Screenix desktop app does.
